Job Description
Band 3, £16,443 per annum with yearly incremental rises up to £17,552 (over four years).

36 days generous annual leave entitlement (pro rata).

Full time, permanent position (37 hours per week).

Shift rota over 7 days, includes nights, early mornings, evenings and weekends.

We are currently looking to recruit a number of full and part time Care Support Assistants to join our dedicated Adult Short breaks team based in County Durham.

This exciting opportunity to work within our Residential Short Breaks service is to support people with Autism and other associated conditions to learn independent living skills, increase community engagement and improve Social connections.

You will be part of an experienced care team working within luxury short breaks holiday lodges on a beautiful farm site. The popularity of the service means we are increasing our existing team to support more people to develop their independence who live in the North East of England.

We have developed a detailed training and induction programme for successful candidates. This includes a comprehensive welcome to working at the North East Autism Society and an introduction to autism (theory, communication, sensory differences and behaviour). After induction period we also offer access to accredited qualifications in Health and Social Care.

Working independently and as part of a team, you will support adults to access a range of activities. You will need to be enthusiastic, able to use your own initiative, have a drive and resilience for what is often a demanding role; and you must be people-centred with good communication and interpersonal skills, possessing a flexible approach to working routines
