Job Purpose
In this role you will be a key member of the bidding team and be responsible for producing well-structured responses to client requirements with pre-agreed win themes/solutions. They work closely with project teams and professionals within the bidding team including attending bid solutions meetings and maintaining/developing a bid library of quality written submissions templates. They will have the opportunity to contribute ideas towards the continuous improvement and development of the department’s processes.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver completed written responses against agreed deadlines, escalating issues as required
Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from operations, project management, technical, commercial, procurement, EHS&Q and social impact
Support sessions with bid teams (made up of business winning and operational personnel) members to create and manage the bid structure, content and final response
Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
Present all new bid content to the proposal managers for potential re-use Update internal CRM systems
Implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance and processes
To assist the Proposal Manager in operating on sharepoint, on customer procurement portals (e.g. CTM). With respect to bidsites on sharepoint also interface with key supply-chain/partners where they are directly supporting a proposal
What do I need to do the role?
Experience/Qualifications/Skills
Essential:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as English, Marketing, Journalism or a sector relevant subject (i.e. nuclear, civil engineering or construction) - this would be an advantage
The Bid Writer will be working as part of an experienced team and have the opportunity to continuously learn and develop their professional writing career including the chance to work towards professional qualifications.
Have a strong academic record of accomplishment and level of general education, particularly with English Language and Literature.
Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines by managing your own workload effectively.
Be skilled in researching and interpreting the subject matter for each bid in order to extract the relevant you will need to create proposal submissions and solutions.
Have experience of writing prequalification and tender submission documents or similar in a previous role.
Proven experience in applying the storyboard > review > write > review process for scored responses
Strong organisational traits and ability to respect and meet deadlines
Strong communicator – to underpin quality of outgoing proposal documents in engaging with all other stakeholders participating and contributing to each proposal (this may include resources external to Cavendish Nuclear)
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite particularly Word
Fine attention to detail – vital in finalising proposal documents and when interfacing with customers through their procurement portals e.g. CTM
Ability to work under pressure in meeting deadlines – not just bid submission dates but also interim milestone
